Funds Raised

Students all around Ireland are being asked to take one night and sleep out at their school to help tackle homelessness by raising awareness and vitals funds for those without a home in Ireland today.

Your class, year group and school can be a part of something amazing!

As the homelessness crisis continues, this year we need the help of students across Ireland to raise awareness on this crisis. In Ireland today there are:

  • 8,060 people are homeless in Ireland.
  • 2,166 are children.
  • 738 are young people aged 18-24.

Focus Ireland works to bring about real and lasting change for the people who need our help. With your support Focus Ireland can reach even more people on the brink of homelessness and make a real and lasting difference to those individuals, families and children currently living in emergency accommodation. Your support will have an impact. Your support will change lives.

Sign up with your school and join us, Bord Gais Energy, and schools all over Ireland on Shine A Light Night 2021!

Why take part?

On Friday October 15th, Students all around Ireland will bed down for the night on their school grounds and help tackle homelessness by raising awareness and vital funds to provide services for those in need.

Take part in Shine a Light Night with your friends, classmates, or school by organising a sleep-out in your school and fundraising together.

At the end of March 2021 there were 738 young people living in emergency homeless accommodation. This represents an 80% increase since August 2014.

With the number of young people becoming homeless increasing, it’s about groups of young people coming together to help other young people who are homeless or most at risk of homelessness.
